A report on the 2011 NGWA Convention

 I attended the 2011 NGWA National Convention as a delegate in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Due to ND's declining membership with the NGWA we were only allowed one delegate this year.)
This was the first time they've held the convention in the same place for two consecutive years, in order to bring in more attendees in the odd years, a goal they achieved this year. I attended several classes and events, all of which were informative.

My favorite presentation was the keynote address given by Brian Shul, who had an amazing story of perseverance and triumph over tragedy and was very inspirational.The EXPO part of the show was a huge success, with a record number of exhibitors in attendance. You could find everything a driller would need in our industry, from small fittings to complete drills, with all the information you'd need.

At the Delegates meeting, one controversial amendment was passed to allow not only contractors but scientists and vendors to sit on the NGWA board, to help broaden our candidate pool.

As a side note to the EXPO, my wife and I also had the opportunity to take in a Las Vegas "SHOW"!
